MAU.6 CBI Newspaper "Roundup". SOLD I have a number of copies of this official CBI newspaper which was printed in Delhi, India. This CBI man sent these home and so most are still in the original envelopes with war time postage stamps and army censor ink stamps etc. Very interesting reading. MAU.9 U.S. W.W.II Japanese Ordinance Training Kit. SOLD A 39" x 13" x 5" wooden box with carrying handles and snap catches. The Engineers castle is stenciled on the front in red. Stenciled in black in three lines on the top is, MINE TRAINING AID SET NO 2 JAPANESE SNL SET NO 586-02. Inside are training replicas of Japanese anti-tank mines, antipersonnel mines, yardstick mines, magnetic mines and hand grenades. There are also the different types of fuses for all of these explosive devices. The original instruction book for arming and disarming each type is still intact. On the inside cover of the box is the picture and identity of each device and also the interpretation of the Japanese writing on each. It has seen use but is in good complete condition. example still mounted in the original gilt 23" x 26" frame. The detail is fantastic with a spread wing eagle on to of the American Shield with a panoply of flags and arrows and a crossed
anchor and canon. Below is a flowing ribband with the "E PLURIBUS UNIUM". All done with silk and bullion thread and raised to appear like it is three
dimensional. A beautiful work of art that would stand out in any US military collection. Undoubtedly done in the orient for a sailor. II+ 
MAU.11 Civil War Union Knapsack $185.00 Tarred canvas with wide leather shoulder straps
having nice scalloped edges. All leather straps and buckles are intact. The tarred canvas is starting to separate in a number of places as it becomes weak with age. After all it is 130 years old. II- |
