AEC.3 FRAGMENT OF A ROMAN REDWARE

AEC.4 ROMAN REDWARE LAMP, 2ND CENTURY A.D. $130.
A nice example 8 cm in length with the discus displaying a seashell with nicely bordered edges. Perfect condition with just a couple of tiny age flakes and displaying a great overall patina.[ Click here to order ]
AEC.5 ROMAN REDWARE LAMP, c.1ST/2ND CENTURY A.D. $385. Pale reddish orange colored
terracotta. Round body 9.5 cm in diameter amd 13 cm long. Pinch handle and a short rounded projecting nose with a large wick hole along with two filling holes. Shoulders of the body decorated
with palm branches and a central discus design of a springing lion. The base is inscribed with a makers mark. A very large finely executed specimen in beautiful condition.[ Click here to order ]
AEC.6 ROMAN REDWARE LAMP c. 1ST/2ND CENTURY A.D.
$245. Very well detailed redish brown terracotta
lamp 10 cm in length. A pierced handle with short nose and a single fill hole. The shoulder of the body is decorated with bunches of grapes and leaf tendrils and the center discus depicts FORTUNA,
standing, facing with head left, holding a cornucopia and a ship's rudder. This is a wonderful example with delicate porportions and well executed detail. Perfect condition with a pleasing age patina.[ Click here to order ]
AEC.7 HOLYLAND OIL LAMP c.1ST CENTURY A.D. SOLD.
Unique specimen is pear shaped and 10 cm in length with a nice reddish color. A large fill hole and small wick hole. Extensive decoration for the type with raised ridges following the
contour of the body and concentric circles around the shoulder. This particular design became very popular during the early to mid Byzantine period. The records
indicate this particular example is from the Routhier collection and was found on a dig at an ancient border outpost in the Siani desert. [ Click here to order ]

AEC.8 ROMAN GLAN $32. These football shaped lead
sling projectiles were used to catapult against oncoming troops. Though I have had many of these plain examples this is only the second one I have had with an inscription
on it. The tip shows evidence of striking something hard on impact so it was obviously used.[ Click here to order ]
AEC.9 GREEK BRONZE ARROWHEAD c.400 B.C. $39. Classic narrow tri-lobe

c.100-650 b.c. SOLD. Overlapping terminals, a nice patined bronze showing

AEC.11 BRONZE MIRROR FROM ANCIENT PERSIA c. 800 A.D. $425. A very fine and rare
artifact, 13 cm in diameter with a nice smooth face. The reverse is completely engraved with running animals and a man with a drawn bow. The entire piece is a beautiful smooth green patina. This is a museum

AEC.13 SYRO-HITTITE POT FRAGMENT c. 2000 B.C. $60.
A large 8 cm square section of a heavy vessel incised with palm trees and the applied figure of a leaping rabbit. Excellent detail to this classic early ceramic technique. [ Click here to order ]

AEC.14 GRECKO-ROMAN IRON ARROWHEAD c. 200 A.D. $35
. Tyical heavy pyramidal form 5.3 cm long, designed to penetrate chainmail armor. I have several of these examples which were found at the ancient Hittite
capitol of Carchemish but they are a later intrusion into this site having an age considerably younger than the golden age of Carchemish. Iron artifacts of this antiquity are
seldom encountered as the metal deteriorates so rapidly in most soil conditions.[ Click here to order ]

AEC.16 EGYPTIAN USHABTI, c. 500
B.C.-100 A.D. $175. Well formed specimen holding the royal symbols of the crook & flail. 6.3 cm white nitrate probably had a faience glaze at one time which disintigrated over the centuries.[ Click here to order ]

AEC.17 SCARAB BEETLE, 13th - 16th Dynasty $165
. Finely detailed gray stone beetle 1.6 cm long. The base has a deeply chisled well detailed figure of an owl. Hyksos period, c.1788-1580 B.C.[ Click here to order ]
AEC.18 SCARAB BEETLE, Dynasty XXX, not after 343 B.C. $180. Deeply carved from ivory
which though weatered a little is still in remarkable condition. 1.4 cm in length with a dedication to AMEN-RA on the base. An extremely rare material to find scarabs made of. [ Click here to order ]
